  Very friendly staff and a good selection of drinks behind the bar.
  A great beer garden that gets loads of sun with plenty of spaces to sit. When the weather is less favourable the inside is an equally nice place to be.
  The food is also good but the only downside is the lack of vegetarian options, fish & chips is as close as it gets.

  Original pub, not a chain. Great selection off drinks and beer. Amazing food, probably one of the best pub meals in Yorkshire. Curry night is one of a kind.

  Good beer. Garden is OK. But definitely don't go for the food - ours ranged from average (the Sunday roasts) to shockingly bad (my comprehensively murdered burger - see photo). And I wouldn't have posted this review if the manager had had a decent attitude but he managed to give me my money back in a miserable and impressively passive aggressive manner, complete with slowly counting out exactly £8.95 in change into my hand.

  Recently reopen with new management and it is not an improvement, or even a match. Had to wait 1 hour 20 minutes for food from ordering. Fairly simple order and it really didn't seem that busy. Other customers were also unhappy. Food was 'OK', but a big disappointment compared to the previous management. Got some money back, but we won't be.

  Greene king have absolutely ruined this place. It serves only Greene king ales, which all taste the same, the food is overpriced and unimaginative and it lacks the charm it once had. Bizarrely, they've not only kept the tradition set by the previous owner of selling some wines cheaper by the glass than by the bottle... But extended it to more wines! Three 250ml glasses are cheaper than one 750ml bottle across a number of their wines...
  
  Sadly, I think we'll be seeing to let signs again shortly and then Greene king can dupe some other poor sap out if their life's savings.
